An Open Letter to Meir Kin
Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Dear Meir,

A favorite adage of lawyers is that if the facts are against you, bang on the law; if the law is against you, bang on the facts; and if both the facts and the law are against you, bang on the table. Meir, stop banging on the table.

It is terribly disheartening that a year has passed - a year in which you were presented with ample opportunities, and then some, to resolve your differences with Lonna - yet you have chosen to remain abusive and recalcitrant in your adamant refusal to go to beis din and issue a valid get to Lonna.

Meir, stop hiding behind "anonymous" websites. It's childish and pathetic, and I'm not interested in responding to your blatant lies and distortions when you don't put your name on your material.  I would be happy to discuss these issues with you in a public forum in L.A. later this summer.

The truth is, Meir, it all comes down to one question.  Everything that you have shared with the public up until now has simply been smoke and mirrors to avoid this one lingering question which you have repeatedly avoided answering: Why won't you issue a get from another beis din? What would be the harm in "humoring" Lonna by spending an hour of your life in any respected beis din in the world, issuing another get

C'mon, Meir.  Five and a half years separated, and still no valid get?  How can you possibly justify that?  Why would you want to hold out for so long?  All we're asking is for you to issue a valid get.  What could be stopping you?

I'll save you the "anonymous" blog post. The answer's clear.  You seek to wreak havoc on Lonna's life by sadistically using the get as extortionary leverage in a divorce settlement.  You insist on going to Rabbi Abraham's beis din because you know that he will assist you in exacting significant concessions from Lonna (to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars) in exchange for the get

Were you to say that no other beis din is competent enough to issue a get, you would be calling yourself a polygamist. You may recall, 14 years ago, issuing a get to your first wife in the beis din of Rav Shmuel Landesman in Monsey.  Why was Rav Landesman's beis din good enough then, but isn't now?  Why is it that the only beis din in the world that you're willing to go to is internationally condemned as corrupt and invalid?

Rabbi Abraham's "seruv" against Rav Bess is interesting.  I guess birds of feather flock together, since Rabbi Abraham chose to base his "seruv" on arguments that are not just deceitful, but absolute lies.  Do you honestly believe that Lonna is paying off ORA and the RCC?  Really??  Are you joking, or deranged?

Meir, we're not interested in fighting with you. We mean you no harm.  However, putting an end to this tragedy is in your hands.  All you have to do is issue a get at any respectable beis din, and there are dozens, at least.  Stop playing games, and stop the abuse.
